During my senior year in college, I had the opportunity to create videos for my Public Relations Portfolio class (a sort of capstone class for the PR major, where students are matched with a client and produce a publicity campaign). My group was paired up with The Yellow Ribbon Fund, an organization that helps out injured service members and their caregivers, particularly those at Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland.
I had always wanted to make animated text videos, and since the library had Adobe After Effects editing software, I decided to teach myself the program so that I could sum up the YRF's mission statement in a jazzy video clip. I loved working on it (a ridiculous amount of time was spent editing and it's only one minute).
