We have two glass-fronted bookcases in the living room, and I like them to be symmetrical (they have matching lamps and potholders). The room needed some oomph to brighten it up, so I made these two (almost) matching runners using techniques from this tutorial with a variegated batik and solid orange, purple, and light blue fabric. You can't see it very well in this picture, but the white fabric has a quite grid design on it - it's not perfectly solid! I then quilted horizontally along their lengths and tapered their ends.
I thought it would look cool if the triangles were placed randomly, so that's why there are white gaps, and they aren't exactly the same. Not sure if that really translated well into the pattern, but I don't hate it. They're pretty cheerful.
