Self Portrait? Yes. Yes it is.

If real life was like Battle: Los Angeles, or in this case, Battle: Pittsburgh, aliens would attack. In this case, they'd be obsessed with geometry and tote ray guns that turn people into tangrams. Clearly, the self portrait above reflects this type of apocalypse. Don't worry, though, Triangle Me doesn't seem to mind. I made this picture a couple of days ago, but just got around to taking the photo. Currently, I'm working on a rectangle of Abed from Community, and then I'll make one of a heart. And place it between the two images. Because we are meant to be best friends forever and eternally connected. I'll slap those pics up whenever I finish. ;D

Take note of: Bow. Hair. Signature Looks I Have Perfected Through The Years. Psssshhh, didn't even brush my hair today.  ;D

Ok, now for the more technical stuff. I used interfacing to stiffen the purple fabric base, because I knew I'd be sewing a lot on it. Originally, I was then going to use some fusible webbing to stick the body shapes on there, but I couldn't find it (I KNOW IT IS IN MY ROOM SOMEWHERE...), so to limit the fraying issue, I interfaced the triangles and circle too. Then I sewed it on my machine, and did the hair that way too, using 3 different colors. (Gotta attempt realism. Luckily I have more hair than that, because fo realz, life would be awkward if i just had those random bits twirlin' off the scalp.) I did the same for the mouth, and then I hand-stitched the eyelashes and whipped on the buttons.

  1. I am so excited for Abed!! I really and truly love this. The bow really embodies your wonderful essence.
