Anthropologie Knockoff Necklace!

So, I had time this evening, (after attempting to bake strawberry cupcakes, and forgetting to set the timer... More on that tomorrow.) and I finally got around to going to some of my bookmarked craft sites/blogs. I decided to make this necklace 'cause I thought it was purty, AND because it seemed like the easiest one to tackle tonight. It basically just involved knotting fabric and sewing folded circles. The level of intelligence used in this craft was minimal. ;) As you can see in the image below, the original Anthropologie Akela necklace was ruffled to the max. I decided to go for a more restrained puff - I feel like it would be pretty overwhelming to have so  many flounces around my neck, like in the original necklace, but I guess it's a queenly ruff.

I don't even know how expensive the real version was - I made mine with stuff I found under my bed! And in my junk drawer! Wooo hooo free accessories!!! And using up things! :D Tomorrow is my cake decoratin' class - I know you're all a twitter to see what the results of the lesson end up lookin' like! It'll be cupcake day, so I feel like the pictures mayyy be kind of boring. Ah well!!!!!!!! :D
